2019年2月27号，《精灵宝可梦》官方进行了“精灵宝可梦直播会”，正式公开《精灵宝可梦》正统续作，即第八世代作品《精灵宝可梦：剑》与《精灵宝可梦：盾》，预计2019年冬季在Nintendo Switch平台上推出，语言支持简繁中文，

《宝可梦剑盾》的动画中出现的宝可梦，是否也会出...
《宝可梦剑盾》的动画版预告现已出来了，画风比上一部要好多了，但和早年的小智相比，差太多了。这部动画的双主角设定让许多观众们感到非常失望，就连游戏中的道馆都变成了剑盾独有的特色。
很多人发现了，第七部《精灵宝可梦》的海报中呈现了很多熟悉的宝可梦，说不定会幸存在游戏里面。毕竟《宝可梦剑盾》全国图鉴都被阉割了，一下子缩减了一半以上的数量。从这张海报中，可以猜测一下哪些宝可梦可以幸存下来。
粗略估计一下，神兽、钢龙、三神鸟、裂空座、凤王、梦境等等都有可能呈现在人们的眼前，而海皇牙、古拉德、超梦都没有出现，或许被阉割了。宝可梦数量是有限的，想要将所有神兽塞进去，还得缩减一下普通宝可梦的数量，这会破坏两者之间的平衡。除了神兽以外，历代御三家、半神兽系列也会全部上台，这一点还是很让人欣喜的。
但是不管怎么说，删掉了一大半的宝可梦，还是让很多粉丝难以接受，毕竟手心手背都是肉。由于这是动画版的图片，未必是针对游戏，更多具体内容还是要等游戏确认上市之后才能知道。
《宝可梦剑盾》在2019年11月15日发售，采用四十五度的视角和回合制的战斗，画面更加精美。该游戏新增了很多元素，比如旷野地带、极巨化、联机挑战等等。

目前来看个人感觉应该不会，极巨化已经相当于mega+Z了，极巨化后六维数值会变相当于mega，且极巨化后招式也会变相当于Z。不过还是要看GF最终是怎么处理的，就像之前没人想到会出现明雷+暗雷一样，没公布之前都只是猜测
